Confessions of a Teenaged Bike

Dear Diary,
Today Pete rode me to work. After being neglected for so many months I can't tell you how delicious it was to be ridden again. I found myself thinking about it all day, and I can't wait for the ride home. Squee!

Love,
The Good Bike

P.S. You're sworn to secrecy, so don't tell the interweb!

  1. Hey Schwinn,
Did Pete come through on repacking those bearings like he promised? How about new bar tape? Every bike deserves new bar tape in the spring. Just like a kid gets new shoes before school starts. I think you deserve it.

  2. Dear Schwinn:

I can sympathise about the wheel bearing. Consider yourself lucky. The clod who owns me won't even oil my chain! Can you believe that? A visible part, noticeably rusty, and he can't be bothered. You don't even want to know what my wheel bearings are like.

Sometimes I hope I get ripped off.

  3. VP,
You sound like my friend Raleigh. He never gets a kind word or bit of attention, yet he's expected to ride through that nasty snow. So I feel pampered by comparison.
