Can it really be true?

From the South Metro Crime Report section of the Strib:

DEC. 1

Suspicious person.

"While on routine patrol, police stopped to check on the welfare of a woman parked on the side of a road. The woman, a California resident, told police that she had been sitting in her car on the side of the road for 15 minutes because it was snowing and her windows were iced over. Police assisted the woman by turning on the defrost to clear her windows."

do you suppose california cops have found visiting minnesotans trapped in cars, prostrate from the heat, not knowing they could just turn on the a/c?

Ha ha ha ha. That's hilarious and I can believe it.

Around here they literally close state highways when they get a half inch of snow on the ground.

That's pretty silly reading at 4.30 a.m. I know of someone who was sitting in a parking lot during a football game running the "heater". The driver commented that it didn't seem to be working. The passenger said "dumbass, you have to run the engine to create heat!". They just had the blower on.
