Clue #1
Treasure hunters swarming amidst global warming
Make it hard to park our loot.
Look for snow and ice, enough to suffice,
To shorten your winter pursuit.
There you go. I've nothing to offer on this one. Not even a city v. county clue.
If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, today is the first day of the Pioneer Press Winter Carnival Treasure Hunt. More details are available here. It's a modern day hunt for buried treasure, $10,000 to the victor. I'll be following it closely for the next 12 days or so.

Ack! It's that time of year already? Ack! *looks for shovel* *panics*
Wow, this one really crept up on me.
Lake Phalen. During the carnival there is a race (pursuit) on the lake. Or at least there used to be back when winters were cold.
I think they're moving the ice races to Mille Lacs this year, due to the thinner ice on Phalen. Plus, it was hidden at Phalen last year, so I doubt they would place it there again.
Are any of the parks making snow for the ski trails?
I'm not sure if they're physically making snow, but I know several have ski trails. I'll have to look into that.
